The National Land Information Service (NLIS) has announced that almost 10,000 search requests have passed through the NLIS hub since the first NLIS channel went live on 2 April 2001.
NLIS is a web-accessible database of land information services provided by the Land Registry and all local authorities in England and Wales.
At the centre of NLIS is an electronic hub that links data providers with the NLIS channel licence holders, which enables property information from the data providers to be passed quickly to the channel licence holders in response to specific search requests.
The number of searches being conducted is rising rapidly. NLIS reports that the level of searches conducted each week rose by 20% during November.
