The results of the Land Registry’s recent e-conveyancing consultation exercise have now been published.
The e-conveyancing interim consultation report summarises the responses to the Registry’s consultation document and questionnaires, and reviews feedback from market research, demonstrations and focus groups. An analysis will shortly be available on Propert-e; alternatively, the full report can be accessed by clicking here.
Peter Collis, the chief land registrar, said: “We will now be taking time to look very carefully at what everyone has said to ensure that we fully understand the ideas and concerns expressed.”
He added: “We will be working closely with all our stakeholders in the coming years to ensure that the e-conveyancing system we build is one that fully meets the needs of its users and one that everyone will want to use. As a next step, we will be refining our vision of the way in which the e-conveyancing system will operate, and how we will work with partners and suppliers in providing it.”
A further report is expected to be made to ministers in the autumn.
The Land Registry received 170 responses to the consultation document and 775 completed questionnaires. In addition, staff at 16 firms were interviewed, 541 questionnaires were submitted by the public, and the Registry obtained feedback from some of the 6,000 people who attended events and demonstrations.
