Preserve e-mails as evidence, says France

The data protection commissioner, Elizabeth France, has given qualified support to proposed legislation that could force internet service providers to preserve copies of e-mail for law enforcement. “This would be acceptable, provided strict conditions were laid down in national law prescribing the specific circumstances in which an order or notice could be issued on an ISP,” she said.

Cephren announces offerings

Cephren, a company formed from the merger of Blueline Online and eBricks.com, has announced that its ProjectNet document management and workflow system is available for the UK construction industry. Its MarketNet service, offering online bidding for materials and services, will be launched by the end of the year.
