Estates Gazette has teamed up with the Property Litigation Association (PLA) to launch an essay competition.
The contest, which commands a bursary of £1,000, is open to association members with five years’ PQE or less as at 30 September 2006 and aims to promote education, training and good property litigation skills.
Eligible members are invited to submit an original paper of around 1,250 words on a topical issue of general interest to property litigators. The topic should promote awareness and understanding of a current property litigation issue and may provide a new insight into existing legal thinking, relate to practice and procedure or proposals for reform. In particular, the organisers welcome entries on the theme: “If I could effect one House of Lords ruling, it would be because .”
The winner will be announced at the PLA’s AGM and dinner on 8 November 2006, with the winning paper to be published in Estates Gazette and on EGi Legal and the PLA website.
Entries should be submitted by e-mail to Mary Block at mary2block@aol.com, no later than 6pm on Saturday 30 September 2006.
