Eton College is seeking a possession order to remove a tenant from one of its farmhouses in Lewes, East Sussex.
In April 1999, Graham Awbery took a 25-year lease of North Barnes Farm, in North Barnes Lane, Plumpton Green, allegedly agreeing to pay rent of £29,000 pa in two instalments.
The college claims that rent and insurance premiums totalling £65,829.62 remain outstanding. It is seeking an order for possession of the farm, together with as rent and insurance arrears of £65,829.62, mesne profits of £79.45 per day until it regains possession, plus interest at 4% over bank base rates.
