Hill Dickinson and Hill Taylor Dickinson to merge

Hill Dickinson and Hill Taylor Dickinson have announced their merger.

This will take effect on 1 November 2006 and will result in 141-partner firm, with more than 900 staff. The new firm will be called Hill Dickinson LLP.

The move will provide the firm with an enhanced London base and an international gateway through its Greek office in Piraeus.

Hill Dickinson’s senior partner, Tony Wilson, said: “I am delighted that both businesses have agreed to merge. The merger is in line with the ambitions of both firms to position ourselves as a major legal force in the UK and international markets. Combining our resources, existing capabilities and client base will create tremendous synergy and it will strengthen many of our key commercial disciplines.”

Maria Pittordis, chairman of Hill Taylor Dickinson said: “This merger will create one of the most substantial commercial and shipping practices in the UK, with the ability to offer a full set of legal and cost-effective services to the commercial and shipping communities worldwide.”
