Laboursite is withdrawing its High Court action against Jarvis after receiving more than half of the requested amount owed.
The PFI sub-contractor originally filed 103 separate invoices with the High Court. Laboursite said that it expected to settle the matter shortly.
Meanwhile, John Laing said that it would not fall into the trap of rival Jarvis and become overstretched. In an upbeat trading statement, it stated that it was working on 42 different infrastructure projects. It was preferred bidder on four more and shortlisted for a further 18.
