Land Registry has launched two new practice guides: Easements (Practice Guide 62) and Leases – determination (Practice Guide 26).
Easements deals with the registration of leases under the Land Registration Act 2002 and, amongst other things, clarifies the position regarding the transitional provisions in force to 2006 in relation to overriding status.
Leases – determination replaces the previous March 2003 guide and takes account of a recent Registry review of its practice on determination of leases. In addition, a new section looking at the enlargement of leases has been added, while the section dealing with forfeiture has been amended following the commencement of certain Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 provisions.
