Landlord sues over use of Knightsbridge premises

Landlord Cheval Property Holdings Ltd is suing Knightsbridge Portfolio Services Ltd for compensation for the use and occupation of the second floor at 55a Knightsbridge, London SW1.

The claimant, a Jersey company, contends that, between 1998 and September 2002, the property was leased to Knightsbridge for £9,000 pa, plus service charges. Following the expiry of the lease, Knightsbridge allegedly continued to occupy the property as a tenant at will until November 2004.

Cheval maintains that, despite negotiations, Knightsbridge has neither signed a new lease nor paid for its occupation. It is seeking £18,000 pa plus service charges, amounting to £23,786.93, together with interest.
