Lord Neuberger has announced that he is stepping down as president of the Property Litigation Association (PLA) as he is in his final year as a judge.
Lord Neuberger – who is expected to step down as president of the Supreme Court in late 2017 ahead of turning 70 in January 2018 – made the announcement at the PLA’s annual dinner.
He will be succeeded as president by Liz Peace, who previously served as chief executive of the British Property Federation for 13 years until her retirement at the end of 2014.
New PLA chair Alison Hardy said: “Liz will be a fantastic president for the PLA. Her wealth of experience, including as former chief executive of the British Property Federation, and her boundless energy will help take us forward as we become ever more outward facing to represent the needs of the property industry. I am very much looking forward to working alongside her in my new role as chair.”
