Monitoring the 2007 Code for Leasing Business Premises released

The School of Real Estate and Planning at the University of Reading has released Monitoring the 2007 Code for Leasing Business Premises. The document is available through the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG). At the launch of the code , the government confirmed that it would be monitoring its effects. This initial round of research is intended to establish: – how far the code has been disseminated in the market, as demonstrated by awareness among landlords and tenants and their advisers; – the extent to which it is being used in negotiations; – the sources of advice to tenants on the code; – the perceptions of landlords, tenants and their advisers on the code’s influence on leasing.
