Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw (MBRM) has appointed a new real estate finance partner to its London finance group.
On 4 January, Stephen Bower joined the firm from Addleshaw Goddard, where he specialised in real estate finance and structured finance, including securitisation and derivatives.
Bower has advised clients in connection with international transactions, with particular emphasis on emerging markets in Central and Eastern Europe, having recently lived and worked in Warsaw.
MBRM said that Bower’s “experience will enhance both the finance, in particular structured finance, and real estate teams in London”.
In 2005, the firm’s real estate finance practice advised the Royal Bank of Scotland in respect of its provision of senior debt funding to the CIT Real Estate Fund for its £107m acquisition of 10 Fleet Place, London EC4.
It also advised Nationwide Building Society in connection with its provision to a fund managed by Catalyst Capital of the senior debt funding for its £112m purchase of the ITN building, at 200-214 Gray’s Inn Road, London WC1.
