Solicitor Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw has appointed a new partner to its construction and engineering group.
Jonathan Hosie will join the team led by Michael Regan on 6 September 2004. Formerly a partner in Hammonds’ construction, engineering and projects practice, Hosie has more than 20 years’ specialist experience in advising parties on the management of risks under building and engineering contracts.
A council member for the Society of Construction Law for more than 10 years, and a founding member of the Design Build Foundation (now Collaborating for the Built Environment), he is well known for his activities within the construction sector.
Hosie’s recent experience includes both contentious and non-contentious work, ranging from the procurement of a £220m hotel and sports complex project and the formation of joint venture, risk-sharing and security arrangements for several contracts forming part of the channel tunnel rail link project to advising on a large number of adjudicative disputes, both as counsel and adjudicator.
Regan, head of Mayer’s construction and engineering group and the international arbitration group, said: “In Jonathan, we have found a high-profile, senior lawyer with enormous experience and talent, which will be beneficial to clients across the board.
“The synergies between his contentious and non-contentious expertise and the workings of our practice are obvious. His excellent reputation in the market will help us to continue to move our practice forward. We look forward to Jonathan joining the practice and working together with him.”
