New head of Leeds office for Pinsent Masons

The head of Pinsent Masons’ property department in Leeds has been appointed to take over the entire Leeds office.


Mark Owen, who became a partner in 1998 and head of the property department in 2004, will replace Nigel McClea, who is retiring in October.


Owen specialises in commercial property work, with particular emphasis on property development/regeneration for both the public and private sectors.


He has advised on some of the highestprofile schemes in the regionincluding the £300m Trinity Quarter scheme and the proposed £900m Harewood Quarter scheme.


He also heads the China desk in the Leeds office.


David Ryan, the firm’s managing partner, said: “Having had the great privilege of working closely with Mark for many years, I know he will be excellent in his new role. He is widely respected both internally and among our clients and contacts.”


Commenting on McClea’s retirement, Ryan said: “We are very grateful for the significant contribution Nigel has made to the firm over such a distinguished career.”


McClea will remain with the firm as a consultant.
