Osborne Clarke has won the Real Estate Team of the Year prize at The Lawyer Awards held at The Grosvenor House Hotel in
The firm secured the award for its work on the new St Pancras Station in
Acting for both Eurostar and London & Continental Railways (LCR), Osborne Clarke advised on a wide range of issues relating to refurbishing and commissioning the station, including negotiating and taking leases for St Pancras Station and all 60 retail units and advising on the construction contracts for the station fit-out and the new Eurostar terminal.
The judges praised the firm’s team, which was led by partners Nadine Strahl and Ian Wilkinson, for their “impressive project management skills in coordinating the many complex aspects of this high-profile project.”
Commenting on the success, Strahl, head of real estate at Osborne Clarke, said: “Winning this award sets the seal on the team’s most successful year to date. Working for high-profile clients such as Eurostar, News International and Consensus has involved the entire team in a range of challenging but exciting projects.
“The St Pancras project was hugely complex from a legal perspective, but our team had the expertise, skill and sheer determination to ensure its success.”
Mike Luddy, the project director for LCR praised the team for approaching the task with “a large dollop of common sense and understanding of the constraints under which [we] have had to work.”
Pinsent Masons won second place while Eversheds came third.
