PP 2000/37

The adjudication system introduced by the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 is applicable to construction contracts concluded as of 1 May 1998. Among the points that have been considered by the courts are enforcement of awards, the effect of insolvency and the power to award costs.
To find all this under one roof, as it were, you should turn to Stuart Pemble’s Resolving Power, Estates Gazette 22 April 2000, p134. Stuart is a solicitor at Mills & Reeve, of Cambridge.
For an update on recent Court of Appeal adjudication cases, see Stuart Pemble’s Adjudication is thrown into the scale Estates Gazette 5 April 2003, p116.
