Developing the Land Registration regulations
It is no secret that the full impact of the Land Registration Act 2002 will not be felt until the relevant regulations have been hammered out over the 18 months or so following its enactment on 26 February 2002.
Taking the government at its word, professionals and others who respond promptly and clearly to consultation papers, as and when published, will have more than a fanciful opportunity to influence the shape and content of the regulations.
You might like to make a note to visit this Practice Point regularly – as the consultation process takes its course, this note will seek to identify and provide links to those features of the new land registration system that have attracted either serious concern or approval.
Identified so far are:
- The new right of public inspection (
PP 2002/200 ) - A proposed mandatory form for registrable leases (
PP 2002/201 )
