Prescott faces eviction from London flat

Deputy prime minister John Prescott faces eviction from his south London flat following plans for the building’s demolition.

The Rail, Maritime & Transport Union, which owns the building containing the flat in Clapham, London SW4, intends to construct new properties on the site. It has given the deputy prime minister until the end of the month to quit or face legal action.

Prescott also has a grace-and-favour flat in Whitehall, use of Dorneywood estate in Buckinghamshire and his own home in Hull.
