Targetfollow is being sued by public relations consultancy The Communication Group for more than £60,000 in allegedly unpaid fees and interest.
The consultant lodged the High Court claim in July, alleging that it was owed the fees under a consultancy contract by which it agreed to act for Targetfollow in return for a £8,000 monthly fee.
In a letter dated 1 October 2009, Targetfollow allegedly stated: “We do not feel that there is a relationship with which to go forward and subsequently feel that we should bring this agreement to an end.”
The Communication Group claims that it accepted that letter as giving notice of termination of the agreement and that in view of the three-month notice period allegedly required the contract would come to an end on 31 December 2009.
Targetfollow allegedly replied that it would not require PR services during that three-month period and therefore would not pay the fees.
The Communication Group alleges that it has not been paid for invoices sent in July, August, October, November and December 2009 and interest on those amounts.
A spokesperson for Targetfollow said: “The case is being vigorously defended by Targetfollow. A defence was filed some time ago setting out substantive grounds on behalf of the company.”
