RBS winds up company at centre of Clarence House case

The Royal Bank of Scotland has been granted a winding-up order against the company at the centre of this week’s Clarence House decision on the lawfulness of virtual assignments.

Today, at the Companies Court, Mr Registrar Simmonds granted a compulsory order against Gibraltar-incorporated New Liberty Property Holdings Ltd.

Counsel for RBS told the registrar that provisional liquidators had been appointed and that the company was “hopelessly balance sheet insolvent”.

The amount of the debt was not disclosed.
