Serious Fraud Office closes Freeport investigation

The Serious Fraud Office (SFO), supported by the City of London Police, has closed its investigation into a Freeport mall development in Portugal. In a press statement, the SFO stated that it had been investigating allegations of corruption relating to the development of the site on protected land in Alcochete, Portugal. The investigation has now been closed, but the SFO will continue to help the Portuguese authorities by way of mutual legal assistance.
