Judge Mr Justice Fancourt will take over as president of the Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber), less than two years after becoming a High Court judge.
He will take on the position with effect from 1 August 2019, it has been announced.
Sir Timothy Fancourt was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 1987 and took silk in 2003. He was appointed a recorder in 2009, a deputy High Court judge in 2013 and a High Court judge assigned to the Chancery Division in January 2017.
As a barrister at Falcon Chambers, he specialised in property litigation, commercial property, landlord and tenant, insolvency, real property, professional negligence, arbitration and commercial contracts.
