A company that specialises in identifying savings to be made in utility costs is suing the Country Houses Association for damages.
NUS Consulting Group, which analyses charges of electricity, gas, coal, and other fuels to identify potential savings, is suing the Country Houses Association for damages.
In 1994 the association, a friendly society, allegedly agreed to pay NUS a fee of £4,000 plus half of all savings made over the following five-year period, in exchange for a continuing detailed analysis of invoices and savings recommendations.
It is alleged that the association asked NUS to consider savings at: Albury Park in Guildford; Aynhoe Park in Banbury; Danny in Hassocks, Sussex; Swallowfield Park in Reading; Greathead Manor in Lingfield, Surrey; Great Maytham Hall in Kent; Flete in Plymouth; Pythouse in Salisbury; and Gosfield Hall in Essex.
NUS, of Carolyn House, Dingwall Road, Croydon, claims that the association acted on its suggestions and achieved savings, but that it owes £9,880.38 plus interest. NUS seeks an account and payment of sums found due, plus interest.
The claim was issued by Hyde Mahon Bridges.
