$1.1m refurbishment of apartment for NYU president

New York University has reportedly spent $1.1m on refurbishing a Greenwich Village apartment that will be the home of its new president, Andrew Hamilton.

Hamilton, who is vice-chancellor of Oxford University, will take up his new role in January.

The property offers four bedrooms and 4,200 sq ft of space, spread over two floors. The refurbishment work includes the repositioning of a staircase and the addition of new walls.
