25% hike in Bellway’s order book

Bellway-THUMB.jpegFINANCE: Forward sales at Bellway increased 25% to £975m in the six months to 31 January, the housebuilder announced this morning.

The forward order book value of £975m was up from £783m in the same period last year.

The number of sale completions also rose by nearly 16% to 3,754. Of these, 1,822 homes completed across Bellway’s seven northern divisions – up 24% from last year.

Its southern divisions also performed well, completing the sale of 1,932 homes – a 9% increase.

In addition, the average selling price of homes sold rose 3% to around £219,000.

Ted Ayres, chief executive of Bellway, said: “With advanced plans to open a sixteenth division in the second half of the financial year, Bellway is well positioned to deliver further earnings growth.”
