Evans Randall Investors has agreed to pre-let with 3M at MIRA Tech Park in the Midlands. The tech firm will occupy half of soon to be built 34,000 sq ft facility on a 10-year term. The building is expected to be ready for occupation by the end of this year. In the meantime, 3M has relocated to interim accommodation at the park.
The development, known as plot 44, combines office and technical space, targeting BREAAM Outstanding certification. It is the second hybrid research and development facility to be brought forward by Evans Randall at the park over the last 12 months including 72,000 sq ft facility on plot 9 which is now partially occupied by audio technology company Warwick Acoustics.
MIRA Tech Park spans 850 acres and is already home to companies such as Bentley, Bosch, Jaguar Land Rover, Toyota and Michelin. Evans Randall has an ambitious goal of growing the park’s built area, with a pipeline of 1m sq ft of research and development and advanced manufacturing facilities. This will be further complemented by the additional 2.3m sq ft of advanced manufacturing and industrial facilities, which secured approval in February this year.
Ned Williams, managing director at Evans Randall, said: “This transaction continues the strong momentum at MIRA Tech Park and demonstrates the breadth of demand for the facilities and capabilities that are unique to this cluster, from start-ups to globally established operators.”
