A Russian investor has snapped up the former Jamaican high commission at 50 St James’s, SW1, for more than £70m.
The 185-year-old 35,000 sq ft building, which is thought to have an underground tunnel to White’s club across the road, has planning permission for a members’ club, spa and 14-bedroom hotel.
Del Bono & Partners advised the purchaser. Harper Dennis Hobbs and Real Estate Hunters were joint agents for the vendor.
