The Black Country Development Corporation has granted planning consent for 60,000 sq m (645,855 sq ft) of factory space on sites at Great Bridge and Darlaston.
Aeroplas has won consent for a 9,975 sq m (107,374 sq ft) factory to be built in two stages as part of the first phase of Great Bridge West. The 3.1ha (7.6 acre) site is close to the boundary with Midland Metro Line 3 and at the junction of New Road and Great Western Way. The plastics factory will employ 90 new staff in addition to 104 personnel from the existing factory in Smethwick.
The BCDC has granted consent for a 50,000 sq m (538,213 sq ft) factory on Bentley Road South, Darlaston, where European Metal Recycling intends to build a metal processing plant.
