A joint venture between St Modwen and landowner JS Holford and Sons has been given the green light to bring forward a 700-home scheme in Hednesford, Staffordshire.
The jv has signed a section 106 agreement with Cannock Chase council, allowing development to progress for a scheme comprising as many as 700 new homes alongside 75-acres of public open space.
Located on land to the west of Pye Green Road, the 142-acre development will also include a centre comprising shops and local facilities.
St Modwen was originally given a resolution to grant planning consent for the development in 2012 and has since been working with the local council on the section 106 agreement – a package of financial contributions and infrastructure improvements to help enhance the local area.
St Modwen is also carrying out a £50m transformation of Hednesford town centre.
The 10-acre regeneration project includes the creation of two shopping and leisure areas called Chase Gateway and Victoria Shopping Park. Tenants include Tesco, Costa Coffee and Pets Corner.
