Real estate has proved a solid career choice, with more than 8 out of 10 graduates in related subjects now in full-time employment in the sector, according to the Higher Education Statistics Agency.
The HESA found that 82.9% of property students ended up in real estate jobs.
Of the 49,095 graduates from 2006-07 questioned, just 6.1% of those who took a property-related degree were unemployed as at November 2010.
The Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education report also recorded that 11% of property graduates were either engaged in further study, or a mix of working and studying.
The study also revealed that former students of unrelated subjects had moved into real estate jobs.
It found that 44.8% of computer science, 32.8% of agriculture and 11% of medicine and dentistry postgraduates were now working in property development and property rental jobs.
