Exchange Street Properties has prelet 60% of its leisure and retail development under construction in Kidderminster town centre, Worcestershire.
Loungers and Coffee #1 have taken units with the £4m Riverside Walk scheme. Café and bar chain Loungers has signed for a 3,500 sq ft unit on a 15-year lease at a rent of £60,000 pa, while S A Brains brand Coffee #1 has taken 2,500 sq ft on a 20 year lease at £39,500 pa.
The scheme won consent last year to transform the Grade II-listed former Brinton’s Carpet headquarters into a leisure destination. Plans include a sympathetic restoration of the 42,000 sq ft building which will create around 12,000 sq ft of retail and restaurant space, with a primary frontage to Riverside Walk including a separate building with a frontage to Exchange Street/Town Hall Square leaving room on the upper floors for further development.
Two units of 3,500 sq ft and 2,000 sq ft are available for A3 use.
Work will start on site in the New Year with completion set for late summer 2016.
