Meyer Homes in on Hounslow

Meyer Homes has received planning consent for 300 homes in the centre of Hounslow, west London.

The scheme will rise to 11 storeys and provide 255 homes for private sale.

It will be built on one of the 14 sites Meyer Bergman acquired from Tesco last year after the supermarket halted its development drive.

The Hounslow House site had previous consent from 2011 for a 57,000 sq ft Tesco Extra store, which was never built. In 2014 Tesco submitted plans for a much smaller supermarket, along with 270 homes, including a tower of 21 storeys, which was subsequently refused, although an appeal is still outstanding and due to be held between 22 and 30 November.

A key component of the design of the scheme ensures that the adjacent bus garage is not space-restricted, and could realise its development potential.
