A2Dominion has lodged the first of several planning applications to Cherwell district council for the development of as many as 2,600 zero-carbon homes at NW Bicester in Oxfordshire.
Two outline plans and one detailed proposal have been drawn up relating to the 382 acres north of Lords Lane.
The project will also include extra care flats, 175 acres of green space, around 50,000 sq ft of business space, 25,000 sq ft of community space and 15,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space, alongside a primary school.
Two further applications for employment space and infrastructure will be filed in the coming weeks.
Project director Steve Hornblow said: “NW Bicester will showcase what the future can look like by enabling people to live healthy, affordable lives in high quality homes that use resources wisely and enhance their natural environment. Truly integrated with the existing town, NW Bicester will become a destination of choice for those looking to lead a sustainable lifestyle without compromising the needs of future generations.”
