Abbey has appointed Susan Geddes to head up its new Real Estate Finance Division.
Geddes, who joined on 22 November, will report to George Trott, director of Corporate Banking.
Susan was formerly head of real estate finance at Bank of Scotland where she had worked since 1987 in a variety of corporate banking roles, including head of corporate banking.
George Trott said: “Real Estate Finance is a natural extension to our existing commercial mortgage and Social Housing business, and under Susan’s leadership, I am confident Abbey will become a leading bank in this important UK market.”
