Aberdeen Energy and Innovation Parks scores hat-trick of lettings

AM Sci Tech, a subsidiary of Hurstwood Holdings, has agreed three leasing deals at Aberdeen Energy and Innovation Parks.

The new agreements are with Italmatch Chemicals, WorkNest and existing occupier Kaseum Technology, which has been based on the parks for six years.

The move comes shortly after the Manchester-based firm had acquired the two science parks in Bridge of Don in January this year, comprising 13 buildings, ground leases, 120 occupiers and 100 acres of development potential. The parks were bought from Moorfield.

Italmatch, a developer and supplier of chemical solutions for the energy industry, has agreed to let units 5-7, measuring 4,000 sq ft, at the Technology Centre on a five-year lease. Italmatch is relocating from a previous base in Ellon, with the new hub offering office space for up to 12 people and lab space for four people.

WorkNest, which provides employment law, HR and health and safety support services, has agreed a three-year lease on the 1,235 sq ft unit F10 at the Enterprise Centre. The firm’s Aberdeen base will focus on projects in the north-east of Scotland and will be home to 14 employees.

Kaseum, which specialises in the design, development, and manufacture of downhole tools, has secured an additional 1,554 sq ft of workspace at the Energy Development Centre, bringing its total floorspace at the parks to 6,254 sq ft.

Cherry Paton, estates manager at Aberdeen Energy and Innovation Parks, said: “Concluding these deals marks a fantastic start for the new park owner. It is pleasing to see two new occupiers, as well as a long-standing occupier expanding.

AM Sci Tech has implemented a proactive approach to letting space, with a reduction in headline rents of up to 35% to attract new occupier interest.

Knight Frank and Ryden are joint agents for Aberdeen Energy and Innovation Parks.
