Aberdeen FC’s new stadium plans fail to please

Aberdeenshire councillors have voted against recommending Aberdeen FC’s plans for a new ground to replace the club’s Pittodrie stadium.

The club had proposed a £50m, 20,000-capacity stadium and training complex on the outskirts of the city.

The chairman of the infrastructure committee cast the deciding vote after seven councillors voted in favour and seven against. A final decision by Aberdeen city council is due in June.
