Aberdeen luxury home sales down sharply

Sales of luxury homes in Aberdeen have fallen sharply, research by Strutt and Parker shows.

Only seven homes with a value exceeding £750,000 were sold in the city in the first half of the year, down from 34 in the year-earlier period.

The decline comes amid a collapse in the price of oil. There is no positive end in sight, the chairman of the Aberdeen Solicitors’ Property Centre, John MacRae, said, adding it was not known when oil prices would pick up.
