Aberdeen Standard turns to M&G for ESG hire

Asset manager Aberdeen Standard Investments has bolstered its team focused on environmental, social and governance issues in real estate with a new hire from M&G.

Manuela Fumarola joins ASI as ESG manager in its private markets and real estate team, tasked with developing an ESG strategy across private equity, infrastructure and private lending assets. She will report to Dan Grandage, head of ESG for private markets and real estate.

Fumarola was most recently a private equity associate at M&G Investments, where she led work on the integration of ESG into the company’s investment process.

Neil Slater, Aberdeen’s global head of real estate and deputy head of private markets, said: “This is a key strategic area for our organisation, and embedding a highly talented ESG team is critical for large private market players such as ASI.”
