Knight Frank’s former head of global corporate services Tony Nicholas is to join Mark Glatman’s Abstract Securities to head a push into build-to-suit offices.
Nicholas joins the firm as business development director after resigning as a Knight Frank equity partner in March.
The appointment comes as Abstract aims to expand its base of clients for whom it can develop bespoke offices either as development manager or in joint venture structures.
“Besides the letting and preletting of our speculative schemes, we are developing occupier-specific projects offering the benefits of the experience gained with our extensive ‘uncompromising value’ approach,” Glatman said.
Nicholas, who spent 26 years at Knight Frank, will also work on the leasing of Abstract’s schemes, such as Aberdeen International Business Park which it is developing on behalf of Norwegian investment company Aker ASA. Prior to running KF’s corporate teams in Europe, the Middle East and Africa he opened the agent’s offices in Cardiff and Bristol.
Nicholas said: “I have worked with Mark Glatman throughout my career and we have built a strong working relationship. I am delighted to be joining a team that is creating several of the most high-profile schemes throughout the UK.”
