Midlands-based developer AC Lloyd in partnership with Minns Network Developments, has struck a deal to develop a new headquarters building for Kärcher UK in Banbury, north Oxfordshire.
The duo will build an 84,500 sq ft new home for the German firm, which makes high-pressure washers, vacuum cleaners and other cleaning equipment, at Banbury Point, next to junction 11 of the M40.
The £10m scheme will be developed on the basis of a turnkey freehold.
The project is currently out to tender on the construction contract with work expected to start on site in the late spring with a target of completion for the end of 2015.
The new facility on the 6.5 acre site almost double the size of Kärcher’s current base on Beaumont Road in Banbury, and will feature a three-storey section with offices, academy, a retail centre and training/customer facilities with a warehouse/workshop section to the rear.
Des Wynne, director at A C Lloyd, said: “This is a highly prominent site close to the M40…
“Kärcher UK is already a significant employer in the town so it is great that it has chosen to remain in Banbury in what will be a bespoke building which will serve a wide range of uses.”
Kärcher UK – which celebrates its 80th year in 2015 – has been based in Banbury since 1978, and now employs almost 300 people.
A C Lloyd and Minns Network were advised by GVA and Brown & Co, while Kärcher UK was represented by White Commercial.
