Accommodation shortage to hit Irish students

Students at colleges in Ireland will face an accommodation crisis when the new term begins, with rents rising as the number of available homes declines.

Figures from property website Daft.ie put the number of homes available to rent at 3,600 as of 1st August, a fall of 1,000 on the year-earlier period.

The average rent in Ireland reached a record high €1,037 in Q2.
