Accor expands in Germany

Accor is to expand its presence in Germany through a joint venture with Baumhögger.

The joint venture, 51% owned by Accor, will see the transfer of 27 hotels in Germany to the new company.

The hotels will be operated by Accor and will be transferred to Accor’s Mercure brand. They were previously operated under the Europa Congress and Europa Comfort names and generate annual revenues of approximately €51m (DM100m).

Hotels to be transferred include the Europa Congress Hotel Dortmund, the Europa Comfort Hotel Goldschmieding in Cstrop-Rauxel, and the Europa Congress Wuppertal in Dusseldorf.

The move expands Accor’s presence in Germany to 234 hotels.
