Accor has signed a deal to set up a nine-storey hotel at Manchester Airport with Hotels S.à.r.l, the first hotel under its Tribe brand to launch in England.
The 412-room hotel was given planning permission by Manchester City Council to be built at the airport, and will also feature four restaurant and bar areas, a gym, and a crew lounge for airline staff.
Subject to coronavirus disruption, construction is earmarked to start later this year, and will take two years to complete.
Thomas Dubaere, chief operating officer Accor Northern Europe, said: “The UK remains a priority long-term global market for development, investment, travel, business and tourism, and this development reflects that. The signing of our second Tribe extends our lifestyle brand pipeline in the UK, and offers greater opportunities for guests to experience the exceptional service and design culture that Accor offers.”
Accor aims to open more than 150 Tribe hotels over the next five years in locations including Amsterdam, Dubai, Hong Kong, New York and London.
