Accrue Capital seeks public input on Old Trafford scheme

Accrue Capital has launched a public consultation on a new residential development in Old Trafford, Manchester, which it hopes will deliver about 430 homes.

The developer plans to regenerate the Trafford Place brownfield site but is looking for input from the public before submitting planning.

With the site’s proximity to the Old Trafford cricket ground, Accrue said it is working with Indigo Planning and O’Connell East architects to ensure that any plans will complement the area.

The site can accommodate a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom properties, overlooking the cricket ground, and would include build to rent homes.

Plans could also include a gym, small retail spaces and a new footpath alongside the tramline to improve connectivity.

Stephen Webster, chairman of Accrue Capital, said: “We are very keen to hear from interested members of the public, including those who live and work in the local area, on what they would like to be included in our exciting plans for this derelict site.

“The number of new homes needed in Trafford vastly exceeds the current pipeline of expected new development. Our vision is to help change that by delivering a scheme which will create around 430 new homes for the area whilst also delivering considerable economic benefits to the area.”

The company added that the construction phase would add £30m to the local economy alongside a “substantial” number of temporary jobs.
