Activist forces vote to oust Purplebricks chair

The chair of online estate agent Purplebricks could be ousted next month after activist investors forced a general meeting.

Lecram Holdings, which has built a 5.2% stake in Purplebricks this year, has been agitating for the removal of Paul Pindar since the summer.

The activists are led by property investor Adam Smith, who used to run the outsourcing group Capita.

A general meeting will be held on 19 December, allowing shareholders to vote on replacing Pindar with former Countrywide boss Harry Hill.
