Addington hires former Kier MD as partner

Addington Capital has hired Nigel Turner, a former managing director of Kier Group, as a partner to lead on town centre regeneration.

Turner was a board director and COO at McCarthy Stone from the start of 2019 until mid last year. He was responsible for all land and development at the listed retirement developer.

Prior to this, he spent 20 years at Kier Group as executive director and managing director. He was responsible for all commercial development and investment as a director of development and property services, and established Kier Property.

Turner joins a team of 15 at Addington Capital. The business has major projects in London, Harlow, Leeds and Cheltenham, including a 118-home BTR development in Hounslow under permitted development rights.

Matthew Allen, principal of Addington Capital, said: “Nigel is experienced in setting up public and private sector partnerships and has the track record to help us increase our success in this area of the market where we foresee a long pipeline of business.”

Turner added: “The significant changes in retail trading provide a unique opportunity to reinvigorate these spaces for residential and community use, whilst helping to reduce the impact of development in the countryside and creating more connected mixed-use communities.”
