A High Court case involving an adverse possession claim to land in Stanwell, Staines, has settled on undisclosed terms.
Joy Agar-Hutty claimed that her father, who owned Long Acre Farm, to the east of Long Lane in Stanwell, had sold the land unintentionally in April 1971 due to a conveyancing error.
She maintained that she and her father had been in continuous possession of the land ever since, through a variety of third parties who parked vehicles and stored materials there, and that they were therefore entitled to claim the land through adverse possession in any case.
However, Deputy Judge Hilary Heilbron QC has now adjourned the claim against Capstan Developments Ltd generally.
