Advisers drafted in for intu’s Trafford Centre sale

Intu’s Trafford Centre in Manchester, last valued at nearly £1.7bn and often viewed as the jewel in the landlord’s crown, is being put up for sale.

The board of the propco in charge of the Trafford Centre has appointed PJT Partners as its M&A adviser, and CBRE, acting as commercial agent, on a formal sale process.

PJT has been advising the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, the biggest lender in the Trafford Centre structure, in the run-up to intu’s administration on 26 June.

It is understood that intu expects to generate considerable interest from the UK and international investment community alike on the sale.

A spokesperson for the joint administrators of intu properties said: “All parties are working constructively together to maximise value for this highly attractive asset.”
