Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) will have to rip up its deal with Kerzner International if the Millennium Dome wins the bid to host a supercasino under new rules the government plans to introduce next year.
AEG has given Kerzner exclusive rights to operate a casino at the Greenwich, south-east venue, which it owns.
But the government will insist the winning council must choose the company to run the business using a “fair and open” process.
Equal access must be given to domestic and overseas operators.
AEG warned that English partnerships would get less rent if AEG were not allowed to open a supercasino on the site.
