US energy group AEP was last night set to reject a £300m bid from International Power for two of Britain’s biggest power stations.
British-based power station operator IP had been named preferred bidder for the two plants, Fiddler’s Ferry in Cheshire, and Ferry Bridge in West Yorkshire.
Several other companies are believed to be interested in the power stations if talks between AEP and IP end.
